Pioneer Memorial Garden

Join us as we build a Memorial Garden at Plymouth Elementary.

One of two benches which will be installed in the new Memorial Garden.

In memory of the many teachers who have touched our students’ lives during their time at Plymouth Elementary – including Rita Hopfensperger and Sally Worsley – the PTO is building a memorial garden near our new gymnasium/cafeteria entrance. We hope that this garden can be a place for students to come when they need a moment of peace during the school day.

Two butterfly benches and a Little Free Library are almost ready to be installed in the garden space. We need your help! The PTO is currently collecting perennial plants, including hostas, hydrangeas or other shrubs, bulbs such as tulips or daffodils, or other plants which grow back on their own in the next season. Families are welcome to drop off plants at the school in a blue wading pool at the new garden site. Collected plants will be cared for by volunteers. Check back here for more information on how you can help on our planting date: tentatively scheduled for May 28th from 4-7pm.
